The Richard Wagner Museum offers a unique setting for guided tours and thematic visits. Whether you are planning an in-depth museum visit with a group or a tour tailored to your interests through the historic rooms, we are happy to advise you on the options available.

Guided tours are available in German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

A guided tour lasts approximately 60 minutes. For groups of 25 or more, we divide the group and offer two 25-minute short tours in succession at the same price. While one group takes part in the guided tour, the other can explore the special exhibition.

For the full guided tour experience, we recommend booking two tours running simultaneously for larger groups.

Regular museum admission is charged separately per person. Discounts and passes, including the Raiffeisen Card and museum passes, are accepted.

Wagner in Tribschen

Richard Wagner lived at the Tribschen country house from 1866 to 1872. This guided tour takes you back to those years and explores his musical work, unconventional family life, many famous guests, household staff, and his love of animals, which he was able to indulge here. Discover a multifaceted and often contradictory personality who continues to fascinate and polarize to this day.

Velvet and Silk

At the Tribschen country house, Richard Wagner found not only a retreat for his musical work and family life, but also a place where he could devote himself to decorating his home and designing clothing. His passion for fine fabrics was both costly and time-consuming. This thematic tour offers insight into this lesser-known side of the composer.

Wagner’s Antisemitism

In 1850, Richard Wagner published the essay “Judaism in Music” under a pseudonym. An expanded version appeared under his own name in 1869. This guided tour examines the roots of Wagner’s antisemitism, its influence on his work, and the historical significance of this text.

Wagner: A Taboo? Jewish Perspectives

This thematic tour of the special exhibition explores Jewish perspectives on Richard Wagner’s work and his antisemitism. It examines how Wagner affected Jewish people in his own time and how he continues to be perceived today, as well as how Jewish individuals and communities have responded and continue to respond to his hostility toward Jews.
