One hundred and fifty years ago, the Bayreuth Festival was held for the first time on the “Green Hill.” The program featured the complete world premiere of Richard Wagner’s monumental four-part opera cycle “The Ring of the Nibelung,” which he had also worked on during his years in Lucerne.
The idea of building a festival theater in Bayreuth actually came to Wagner here, in the rooms of the Tribschen villa. All the more reason for us to celebrate this anniversary together.
