Open House and Talk

Were the people of Lucerne aware of Wagner’s antisemitism during his years in Tribschen? How did the City of Lucerne address this legacy when it opened the Richard Wagner Museum in 1933? And why, when the Lucerne Festival was founded in 1938, were works by Wagner performed in front of the Tribschen villa?

Historian Patrik Süess explored these and other questions as part of a commissioned research project. The findings will be presented in a new special exhibition opening in April 2027. During the Open House, Patrik Süess will offer insights into his research and be available for questions and discussion.
