Public inauguration ceremony of the new Richard Wagner bust - and
special exhibition
The first Richard Wagner monument in Switzerland is scheduled to
be raised in front of the Wagner Museum in Tribschen in Lucerne.
In conjunction with commemorating its 50th anniversary, the "Schweizerische-Richard-Wagner-Gesellschaft"
commissioned Swiss artist Thomas Hunziker with the task of creating
a large bust of Wagner. Hunziker worked on the bust for more than
one year, approaching the task from various angles with the ultimate
result being a distinctive portrayal of Wagner during his years
in Tribschen.
The public inauguration of the Wagner bust will be held on:
Sunday, September 17, 2006, 11 a.m.
The exhibition runs from
September 17 to November 30, 2006.
